Zach Adams Brings Dark Storytelling to Alternative Metal with “Dead Man Walking”
Zach Adams delivers a powerful meeting of music and fiction with “Dead Man Walking,” an alternative metal track created as the theme song for their horror/fantasy novel Dead Man Walking: Narrator’s Cut, the first book in the Ivyverse series.
Drawing influence from Metallica, Alice in Chains, Black Sabbath, and even Danny Elfman, the song combines heavy intensity with a dark and haunting atmosphere. Inspired by the emotional turbulence of anxiety, “Dead Man Walking” explores inner turmoil through forceful vocals, crushing instrumentation, and a strong balance between grit and melody.
Produced by Adams and released through their label, Splitting Adams Entertainment, the single also opens a larger creative project. It is the first of 11 tracks designed to serve as a soundtrack to the book, connecting music and storytelling within the same world. With “Dead Man Walking,” Zach Adams introduces an ambitious concept where alternative metal becomes an extension of the story itself.
