Into the Light marks a new chapter in the SLAPPER discography

Today, we celebrate the official release of the new single, Into the Light, from SLAPPER. The song, which will be released on all platforms on the 6th of February, 2026, marks a new chapter in the SLAPPER discography, continuing the artistic direction set by the recent release of the album Hope, which dropped in November 2025.

Into the Light is an instrumental piece characterized by a clear sense of progression. It blends the best of synth-pop, synthwave, and melodic techno, creating an evolving experience. The rhythm is steady and confident, allowing the music to breathe and slowly but surely drive it forward to a brighter and more expansive place. While the song begins with an introspective quality, it slowly opens up to create a sense of movement and progression without the need to resort to the written word.

The track sounds very much at home within the overall sonic landscape of SLAPPER’s music, blending retro-inspired sounds and textures with modern electronic music sensibilities. SLAPPER is a project that was initiated in Bucharest during the late 90s by Claudiu-Gabriel Tache and has long been focused on exploring the theme of nostalgia through modern eyes. Over the years, SLAPPER has functioned as a producer and a DJ for some of Bucharest’s most renowned nightspots and has shared the stage as an opener with acts such as Alphaville and De/Vision. This is evident through the structure and cinematic nature of this track.

With the release of Music Box Memories in 2023 and the emotionally charged album Hope, Into the Light feels like a natural progression and not a step back. It’s more focused on the journey as a whole and encouraging the listener to immerse themselves within the soundscape and allow the music to progress at its own pace.

The single is already garnering some early international radio airplay support and is scheduled to be broadcast across Europe and America. With Into the Light, SLAPPER once again offers up a polished and thoughtful electronic music release.
