Seven Crows releases cinematic single Amanda on the Bed

Chris Murphy, violinist, composer and looping performer from Los Angeles and the artist behind the project Seven Crows, keeps growing in popularity with each new release and, having released the single Amanda on the Bed on March 13, 2026, prepares us for his next album called Powers of Observation scheduled to be released on April 24, 2026 through Teahouse Records.

In Amanda on the Bed, the listener gets another wonderful example of how well Seven Crows manages to immerse in the sounds made with the help of his five-string electric violin. The song itself features two separate patterns – the first one consists of a loop of 25 seconds, while the other one transforms continuously. All of that allows the track to grow organically, which perfectly represents the idea of ​​constant change and transformation. Thus, the resulting song sounds like an organic and lively creature, which resembles music being a unique journey full of meaning created by the listener.

Interestingly, Amanda on the Bed was recorded in one night and in just one take during the stay in Gregg Williams’ studio in Portland. The flow of the composition is perfect: some parts reflect the moments of thoughtfulness, while others are more intense and dynamic. What is also notable about this composition is the fact that it touches upon feelings of love, memory and desire in a very delicate way, thus creating an emotional layer within the track.

As mentioned above, Amanda on the Bed is the part of the soon-to-be-released 14-track album titled Powers of Observation. The whole album will consist only of sounds made with the help of the electric violin and various pedals that create an ambient, post-rock and experimental mood. As for the musical style of the track, it is mostly based on classical, jazz, electronic and world music.
