SASC CLASSICAL
SASC CLASSICAL Reimagines Debussy’s Clair de Lune Through the Sound of Lost Concert Halls
SASC CLASSICAL brings a distinctive historical perspective to Claude Debussy’s Clair de Lune, presenting the famous piano work through a production designed to recover the atmosphere of legendary classical recordings.
The release is part of the work developed by SoloArtStudio, founded by producer and pianist Tolga Tümözen. The studio digitally reconstructs historic concert halls that have disappeared or changed significantly over time. Using a simulation program created exclusively for SoloArtStudio, the team recreates both the acoustics of these spaces and the recording equipment associated with important performances from the past.
For Clair de Lune, Tümözen performs the piano himself, focusing closely on the delicate character of Debussy’s composition. The interpretation gives particular attention to touch, pedal resonance and the silences between notes, allowing the music’s quiet emotional movement to remain at the centre of the recording.
Originally written around 1890 and later published in 1905 as part of Suite bergamasque, Clair de Lune remains one of Debussy’s most recognisable works. Its balance of soft harmonies, flowing arpeggios and moments of near silence creates the sense of light and shadow that has made the piece so enduring.
Released worldwide on digital platforms through SASC CLASSICAL, this new version combines classical performance with SoloArtStudio’s detailed approach to acoustic reconstruction, offering listeners a carefully crafted way to experience the atmosphere and emotional depth of Clair de Lune.
