Rosetta West Reveals Hypnotic New Single “Circle of Doubt”

Rosetta West have just released the official video for their new single, Circle of Doubt, and it’s a solid follow-through on their long, unconventional musical career. Released in conjunction with the Celtic festival of Beltane, Circle of Doubt is one of those instances when Rosetta West’s signature blending of blues rock, psychedelia, and mysticism is perfectly suited for the atmosphere. The haunting, repeated blues guitar riff that pervades the song is one of tension and fatigue, while swirling waves of solo guitar texture suggest reaching out for freedom or meaning. Lyrically, the song grapples with an escape from a spiritual “circle of doubt” that is a result of burning out on an inner conflict.

Rosetta West are Illinois-based musicians that have been a notoriously independent underground presence for several years. Original member Joseph Demagore provides vocals, guitar, and keys, with bass and co-production handled by Jason X. Drummer Nathan Q. Scratch is something of a mystery figure, maintaining a low profile but lending rhythmwork to the band’s energetic chemistry.
