REKIN 85 and Autumn White Retell the Classic in “Sonnet”

Nearing July 16, 2025, release, “Sonnet” becomes the newly minted cover single of Norwich-based act REKIN 85, featuring rising vocal star Autumn White. It’s a golden reworking of a timeless classic, as the pair demonstrate their mutual admiration of nostalgia-framed pop and immunity to reissue, opting for a vastly alternate track.

It happened after REKIN 85 stumbled upon Autumn White through Instagram, and he was impressed by the latter’s distinguishing voice. Inspired by producers The Midnight, The Weeknd, and Timecop 1983, the pair went to work at their respective studios crafting a high-energy and ambient track that captures nostalgic panache as well as contemporary sonics.

So described by REKIN 85 as “great fun and full of sparkles,” the project has the sheer of joy adequated indelibly upon the sound, as much as upon the creative act, of the album. “Sonnet” rises above the sleeve—it’s the encounter of musical minds as such, the output of the mutual necessity for reinvention and melody.
