Faroese producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Benjamin Djurhuus steps into his own artistic world with öð [øh], the debut album released under ÖÐ. Built around warmth, presence, space and human connection, the project introduces a cinematic folk universe that feels deeply personal and organic.

After spending years behind the scenes as a producer, songwriter and collaborator, Djurhuus felt a growing desire to create something of his own. öð [øh] is the result, drawing inspiration from his Faroese roots, folk music and a strong appreciation for acoustic sound. Live instrumentation plays an important role throughout, helping the music feel close, natural and human.

At the heart of öð [øh] is a simple idea: warmth does not always have to be something physical. It can be found in a shared moment, in comfortable silence, or in staying at the table with someone a little longer. The album turns that feeling into an instrumental journey, balancing intimate pieces with more energetic moments while always leaving room for the listener to breathe.

Although the Faroe Islands are often connected with wind, fog and darkness, ÖÐ deliberately moves toward something warmer. The music aims to offer the comfort of holding a hot cup of tea while looking out at the sea with nowhere else to be.

That philosophy also shapes ÖÐ’s live “acoustic surround experience,” where eight musicians form a circle around the audience, placing listeners directly inside the sound.
