New Gondoliers Drops Splendid Second Album “Art Cartel”

Croatian folk indie band New Gondoliers starts the year in style with their second album Art Cartel, released in January. With this new project, they have expanded their sound beyond the Americana folk of their debut Escape Town. This shift adds an energising, vibrant sound that is already drawing attention.

Led by actor and creative Alen Čelić, the band infuses trumpet and accordion together with country rhythms into Mediterranean folk. The title track starts with spoken word, before guiding the listener through a whimsical genre fusing and intriguing sonic journey which is unforgettable.

The album’s sound was polished by none other than Howie Weinberg – 21 grammy awards winning legendary sound engineer. He called it “a really cool album! Very vibey and fun!” If this is the standard for the year, other releases will have a rough time keeping up. We couldn’t agree more. Art Cartel kicks off in glee, striking yet another joyful start.
