Mitchell Leonard Unveils His Brand New Single “SESSION_OPERATORS” via Dazzling Lyric Visual

Brooklyn-based composer/producer Mitchell Leonard presents his brand-new single “SESSION_OPERATORS” – a bewitching melting pot of indie electronic sounds coupled with deep messages. The song officially arrived January 28, 2025, as it became public on all streamers and, simultaneously, an eye-catching clip for the track was uploaded on YouTube.

The genius of Leonard, known for marrying music and animation in innovatively unthinkable ways, has struck again in the form of a collaboration with animator/ director Jared D. Weiss. The result is a visual ride inspired by retro technology, complementing the ethereal, immersive sound of the song perfectly.

“SESSION_OPERATORS” opens with an ethereal synth tone that immediately fills your senses. A computer-like voice repeats, through a filter: “Session operators show you what you need to see…”-a lyrical phrase acting as the basis behind the song concept. Leonard sees artists as “session operators,” taking their audience on flights of creativity, much as he does in his live streams on Twitch.

Lyrically, the song is an invitation for one to join him: “If I float, then there’s hope, then I’ll throw down the rope. If I float, will you come float with me?” It’s a poetic call to join him on a sonic journey, one which blurs lines between artist and audience, creator and participant.

Let’s face it-with Jared D. Weiss’s unmistakable animation style putting the visual, “SESSION_OPERATORS” is less a song than immersive artistic statement. Mitchell Leonard is one who continues to redefine what music can be, proving once more his work is just as much about emotion and storytelling as it is about the sound.
