MATT ROLLER
Matt Roller shines with new single “Sunshine”
DIY punk artist from Portland, Maine, Matt Roller, has released a new single “Sunshine,” a deeply personal and raw song that encapsulates the thoughts of self reflection and the struggle to escape one’s head. The single is a signature pendulum of what is to come in his upcoming album, The Light Between, which releases on March 14, 2025.
Influenced by PUP, Alkaline Trio, and Bad Religion, Sunshine merges catchy tunes with chaos and is both fresh and true to the genre. Roller recorded Sunshine without any professional aid in his house, utilizing a variety of DIY techniques like natural reverb from the different rooms in his house.
Sunshine portrays the strong yet vague undertones in the maters of his songs and as Roller works to sharpen his sound and explore the captures of his creativity, it remains a powerful whisper of what is to come. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for The Light Between, these are one of the albums that any punk rock head will appreciate!
