Marcel Flendrie Creates a Cinematic World on “Awakened Arms”

Dutch guitarist and composer Marcel Flendrie introduces listeners to a deeply atmospheric and intimate musical space with his debut EP Awakened Arms. Recorded at the legendary Famous Gold Watch Studios in Berlin alongside producer Cameron James Laing, the four-track instrumental release feels both personal and cinematic, blending acoustic and electric guitar textures with piano, bass, and subtle percussion.

Each composition on Awakened Arms carries its own emotional identity while remaining connected through a calm and immersive atmosphere. The title track opens the EP with delicate fingerpicked guitar melodies that slowly unfold into richer harmonic layers, creating a soothing sense of movement and reflection. The arrangements remain understated throughout, allowing the emotional weight of the music to breathe naturally.

Famous Gold Watch Studios, housed in a former East German security facility in Berlin, carries a unique atmosphere that helped shape the sound and mood of the EP.
