KRISTEN CASTRO RELEASES NEW Uplifting Track “Summer Rain”

Singer Kristen Castro released the new track, Summer Rain, a upbeat, soulful tune that represents another transformation as a singer for the artist. The track, released July 18, the second pre-album track ahead of the debut album Capricorn Baby, Aug. 29, can be pre-ordered through multiple online platforms, including iTunes.

Recorded in 2020 and finished five years later, Summer Rain is a personal journey of loss, rebirth, and resurgence. One can feel the assured creative renaissance of Castro, as she takes back control of her voice and space in the scene through the lush synths and personal guitar work. Sonically citing the example of The 1975 and MUNA, Castro injects warmth, strength, and vulnerability to the track.

Edited simultaneously in cities such as Nashville, Amsterdam, and Rome, Summer Rain simultaneously feels sonically universal yet intensely personal. One of the only queer Mexican-American women to self-produce records, Castro presents a compelling presentation of identity and rebirth.
