Ride the Rails

Powerful Selleg “Ride the Rails” Provided by Ken Woods and the Old Blue Gang

On 31st March was the official launch of “Ride the Rails,” the debut single courtesy of Ken Woods and the Old Blue Gang. This day in history is punctuated with the song bringing alive the dramatic and harrowing events of September 24, 1893, when a mob assult forcefully expelled the entire Chinese community from La Grande, Oregon.

The song captures the chaos as well as the tension that old La Grande station was filled with during those ill-fated days. The relentless train beat, pulsing bass, and layers of ticktack guitars capture the essence which makes the old La Grande station what it is today and all of it’s former glory. Somehow evoking the dusty streets and turbulent winds of rural America captured in dozens of guitar tracks swirling together alongside two scorching guitar solas making you drive out to the fierce emotional climax.

“Ride the Rails” marks the upcoming concept album “Silent Spike” which is to be released on July 4th, 2025. The band describes their sound as a potent blend of Bakersfield style country fused with psychobilly and roots rock boasting impressive musicality alongside heartfelt themes.
