Jackal Twins Drop Their Debut LP “Cuzco”, A Frantic Work of Art Portraying Fierce Passion of Music.

On March 7, 2025, the New England based experimental mathcore band, Jackal Twins, released their long awaited debut album Cuzco. After years of toil, disappointments and stubborn resolve, the band has finally unleashed its 12 tracks filled with unrestrained rage, dark romanticism and grim humor. Cuzco is a potent and furious expression of their raw musical passion. The Cuzco records have yet to be subordinate to an overwriting label.

Ben Trussell (drums/vocals) and Mike Palumbo (guitar/vocals) founded Jackal Twins in 2017, and the duo did not have to look far and wide to discover a distinct musical spark that could push them to greater creative heights. Their sound draws from a variety of influences such as punk, mathcore, post rock and metalcore, painted in vivid and eclectic colors, creating a singularly beautiful tapestry of music.

The album was produced by Kurt Ballou of GodCity Studios and Converge with assistance from Carl Saff for the mastering. Regardless of the multitude obstacles during recording like the impossibly slim budget and being labeless, Ben and Mike powered through and recorded the vocals themselves fully delivering a captivating and angsty performance.

As such, it becomes impossible to categorize the result as a single album. The song “Charcoal Lions”, along with many others, has powerful, multi-channel vocals dancing over complex rhythms, and it is this very track that helps Cuzco travel through the realms of hardcore disorder, psychedelic noise, and fragmented narrative. Their commitment to artistry is evident and euphoric, and it is crafted to be released into the world.
