Someone Like Me

Q: What motivated you to write “Someone Like Me”?

A: My inspiration came from my own past and the people that I’ve come across throughout it. My whole life, I’ve been captivated by the idea of meeting someone who can truly connect with me on a deep level, whether that’s sharing my quirks or my dreams. This has been a journey over time for me and I wanted to put it in words.

Q: You say your “pretty silly” in the song lyrics. Why did you find it necessary to start off this way?

A: What I believe is important here is starting off with sincerity. The fact that I am silly – serves as an introduction of what’s going to happen next in the song. It’s all about self-awareness and being comfortable in your own skin. A playful way for others to know me as well as accept my individuality.

Q: You also suppose not knowing why you are different but always searching for someone like yourself? How can you explain this?

A: This struggle is about understanding one’s uniqueness. Sometimes you don’t actually know how you differ from others but there is something there. There is a strong tendency towards individuals who possess these qualities even if we do not fully grasp them ourselves yet. It’s all about connecting and rising together.

Q: And what does repeating “For someone like me” mean to you?

A: Repeating makes it clear just how important this mission is for me. It acts as a mantra which reminds me of what exactly am searching for consistently within myself . It shows how much full-time commitment has gone into this search on my part so far . To keep wanting means keeping hoping

Q: You use phrases such as needing someone with resilience and ambition through out the song? Why?

A: Resilience and ambition are two traits that matter most to me personally when looking forward into relationship issues.Resilient, ambitious people are those who can overcome the challenges of life with you while working towards greater goals. I need someone who is also in the game and contributing to us.

Q: However, you mentioned that you are “built different” and also say that you are both sociable and shy. How do these features fit together inside of yourself?

A: It is nothing else but a reflection of people’s complexity. Being both social as well as timid may appear contradictory although it does exist. It’s about having various personalities which make up your own whole self. Our individuality is based on this concept of duality.

Q: The lyrics depict an idea of searching without finding leads to the right person for relationship. Can you relate to this theme?

A: It presents itself as a more concrete interpretation of finding true love than most other songs usually do.Sometimes, it feels like forever before one settles for the right person. The search could be done but they might be hiding from view.Anyway, it is all about persistence and hope.

Q: You talk about knowing when she holds you safe in her arms. What does safety mean to you in a relationship?

A: Safety in a relationship means being understood and accepted by the other person completely. Having a partner who makes sure that no harm ever comes your way both emotionally as well as physically is what makes safety possible. It’s where my home is whenever I am with them.

Q: How significant is it that the song ends with a reaffirmation of looking out for someone like you? What keeps you hopeful in this search?

A: Hope is what drives my search. This helps to keep me motivated, believing there’s someone out there who’s just my perfect match. That idea gives me hope that even if time passes by, the journey will be worth it. Be hopeful and persevere.

Q: Do you think listeners can relate to these themes of individuality and connection in the song?

A: I think many listeners can understand this feeling of wanting to connect. It is difficult to find someone who appreciates our peculiarities and eccentric qualities. The longing for such a soulmate comes out clearly in this track.

Q: What role does self-awareness play in your songwriting process?

A: Self-awareness means everything when it comes to song writing. Writing from personal experience and emotions is necessary for making true music with meaning. Being myself and passing on such a message through my songs make them authentic, which is also relatable.

Q: What would you like listeners of “Someone Like Me” to get from it?

A: A sense of connection with other people should come across as what i want most in “Someone Like Me”. I want them to see that different is okay; there will always be someone who would love them for what they are. Embrace yourself and remain optimistic as you look for love.

Q: How has writing and performing this song impacted you personally?

A: Writing and performing “Someone Like Me” has been healing for me. I have found ways of exploring some sentiments that lie deep within me through it all along. Additionally, as much as I composed the music, the feedback from people who felt related was very satisfying..This has been a self-discovery and connection journey.
