INKOGNIITO
Nowhere by iNKOGNiiTO is an uncanny trip into existential confusion and emotional isolation through the use of lyrics that delve deep into the interior of self-identity struggles and loss. The artist leads us through to a space where absolutely everything seems disorienting and uncertain in this captured continuous refrain, “Absolutely nowhere.” The repetition of the phrase has marked a feeling of being lost within an undefined space where neither the past nor future offers clarity.
Throughout the song, iNKOGNiiTO ‘ admission implies that they have trapped themselves in history’s mistakes, and yet there’s a yearning for change. Lines like “I’ve made the wrong side of history / And learned to live in a mystery” speak of an emotion full of regret, while one has also been earning to live in such mystery. The lyrics point to a desire to escape, but there’s almost a peculiar tension: “What I would do to just forget,” which really reveals an inner struggle between the desire to move on and the inability, in truth, to really release that.
They also show their fight with the complexity of relationships and loyalty: “If loyalty is broken, what can loyalty mean?” This means there’s deep distrust that comes out when personal connections break down. iNKOGNiiTO represents a person who feels disconnected not only from others but also from themself; this is well represented in “Am I my memories / If I don’t have any?”
“Nowhere” calls into a surreal, science fiction-like setting where reality is ever-shifting and even the highest of highs feel low. The lyrics lean into the ambiguity, turning the track into a raw reflection of emotional vulnerability and personal reinvention.
