Heddlu Returns with Poignant Second Album Tramor

Welsh musician Rhodri Daniel, formerly of Estrons, has returned with his second album under the new project Heddlu. Titled Tramor, the record is set for release on 12th June 2025 through Zawn Records and continues to showcase Daniel’s remarkable evolution as a songwriter and composer.

Heddlu, meaning ‘Police’ in Welsh, emerged after Daniel faced severe hearing loss and tinnitus following years of touring with Estrons. Unable to perform live, he channeled his creativity into composing music mentally, walking the entire 900-mile Wales Coastal Path in the process. His debut album, Cantref (2022), received critical acclaim for its inventive soundscapes, and Tramor promises to take listeners even deeper into his world.

Meaning ‘Overseas’ in Welsh, Tramor is a collection of intimate and volatile tracks exploring loss, estrangement, trauma, and hope. The album reflects Daniel’s experimental approach to music, incorporating new instruments and textures while remaining emotionally resonant. Life’s unexpected disruptions influenced much of the writing process, even leading to the erasure of an entire version of the album, but the final result captures both vulnerability and resilience.
