Hamish Revisits a Long-Loved Favourite with “Singing In My Soul”

British singer-songwriter Hamish has brought “Singing In My Soul” back into the spotlight, with the single released on September 25, 2026.

Originally featured on his 1999 debut album Picture In My Bag, the track was produced by Les Penning, known for his work with Mike Oldfield. Recorded at Hatfield Court, a rambling and partly ruined mansion in Herefordshire, the song was created with a group of local musicians in an unusual and atmospheric setting.

“Singing In My Soul” later found success on New Zealand’s folk charts while Hamish was travelling there and was also synced to a major television programme. Since then, it has remained a popular part of his live repertoire, particularly at weddings and events.

Known for melody, storytelling and a strong connection to classic folk and rock songwriting, Hamish continues to build on a musical journey that has now stretched across three decades.
