Q: What inspired you to write “The Stable Song”?
A: “The Stable Song” was inspired by a combination of personal experiences, introspection, and reflection on the passage of time.
Q: Your lyrics are filled with vivid imagery and poetic devices. Can you tell us about your approach to crafting such emotive language?
A: I trust in language’s ability to produce feelings and paint a picture for the receiver. In writing songs I aim for images that take listeners into a specific moment or feeling.
Q: The repetition of the word “ring” throughout the song serves as a motif. What significance does this motif hold for you?
A: The motif of ringing bells symbolizes time, cyclicality of existence and echoes from memory lane; it is an analogy for self discovery and growth as well.
Q: Your lyrics explore themes of introspection and self-awareness. Can you elaborate on the message you hope to convey through your music?
A: I use my music to encourage people to reflect on their own emotions and experience. “The Stable Song” discusses themes like love, loss, resilience among others before ending with hope and renewal.
Q: The song contains references to spirituality and reverence. How do these themes influence your songwriting?
A: My life as well as my music is full of spirituality as well as reverence for humanity. I get inspiration from nature while moments of tranquility help me find solace.
Q: What emotions do you hope to evoke in listeners through “The Stable Song”?
A:”The stable song” should be able to make someone feel so deep inside themselves with various emotions ranging from melancholy reflection, nostalgia or even hope that everything will be okay with them .In essence, the listening individual will connect emotionally hence finding some meaning in its words .
Q: The imagery of throwing stones at the stars and being covered in straw in the stable conveys a sense of vulnerability. Can you speak to the vulnerability present in your songwriting?
A: My songwriting is centered on vulnerability. I believe that in order to better connect with ourselves and others, we must embrace our vulnerabilities. The track “The Stable Song” illustrates my moments of weaknesses and strength against all odds.
Q: How does the setting and atmosphere of the song contribute to its overall mood and tone?
A: The setting and atmosphere of the song play a critical role in creating the mood and tone. The mention of Ohio River spinning waves, tall grass etc., does not only bring out images but also is known for adding ambience hence bringing more emotions to lyrics.
Q: Can you walk us through your creative process when writing “The Stable Song”?
A: Most often my creative process is spontaneous or instinctual. I draw from personal experiences, observations and emotions that inform the rest of the song
Q: What do you hope listeners take away from “The Stable Song” after listening to it?
A:I hope “The Stable Song” at least encourages introspection, reflection, as well as some optimism .All in all, what matters most is whether they find comfort within these words or relate themselves to those emotions expressed by this piece so that it becomes an experience worth reckoning with.
Q: How does “The Stable Song” fit into the larger themes and body of your music?
A: This is another song that reflects the themes of my music, love, loss and self-discovery. This example is very telling of how I write songs and the emotions I put into them.
Q: How does storytelling factor into your writing process?
A: I make sure every song tells a story. Storytelling makes people feel things, it makes them want to be understanding and it brings us closer to one another.
Q: Do you balance personal experiences with universal themes in your music? If so, how?
A: My aim is to create songs which are personal yet also universally understood. By using my own experiences but focusing on some recurring themes such as love, death or resilience among others, my songs have become for everybody from different walks of life.
Q: Why do you think emotion and authenticity are important in your music?
A: In my music emotion and keeping it real cannot be underestimated. For me this means that when I write a song I will be honest about what I am feeling or what has happened to me personally. Every single track that I produce should reflect where I am at in life at the moment.
