ERIC VERCELLETTO KICKS OFF THE CIRCLE WITH NEW EP “KELC’H DIGOR”

This stunning new EP was released on the 12th of July 2025 and is the work of Éric Vercelletto. The work combines Celtic tradition and impressionistic jazz and minimal ambient textures. The name of the project translates the Basque words for “open circle,” and it’s just that—just an invitation—albeit one conveyed through movement and music and remembrance.

Combining the elements of the ancient music of Brittany, the work of Kelc’h Digor offers us a modern and introspective listening experience. The focus of the music is the harmonically thick textures and thin piano textures intertwined with the ancient style of singing foreshadowing the melodies. The instrumental work is as introspective as it is original and once again makes Éric the link between the ancient and the modern.

Perhaps the most striking of the EP tracks is the “Marig Ar Pollanton,” a centuries-old Breton folksong cover. The cover is not only a compliment but also recontextualizes culture and remembrance from a modern perspective.

Having been born between Quimper and Lisbon, the EP distills the essence of two cities and the value of a natural and collaborative production. The music feels unique and universal all the same—a free-flow and earthbound dance.

With Digor Kelc’h, Éric Vercelletto returns to his investigation of electronic and acoustic textures and reaffirms his identification with his sources. His music is the stuff of a whoop of clean seaward breeze—stuff that gets the blood up and makes for another whoop.
