Elysian Fields Bring Their Acclaimed Album “Definition” Back to Listeners Worldwide

Utah pop rock band Elysian Fields are giving new life to their celebrated album Definition with a worldwide re release across all major streaming platforms. Originally released in November 1995, the record earned praise within Utah’s music scene and is now ready to reach a much broader audience.

Recorded at the Record Lab with renowned producer Cliff Maag, Definition was warmly received upon its original release. The Deseret News described it as “a breath of fresh air” and called it a must for local band collectors, highlighting the album’s impact on the regional music community.

Definition showcases the songwriting partnership of James Shumway and Mark Roos, complemented by the powerful lead vocals of Kerri Murray. Roos also handled guitar duties while Shumway played keyboards. The band’s lineup was completed by Dale Sandberg on bass and Jeff Francom on drums, with Sandberg also contributing to the album’s final sound through his work alongside Cliff Maag in the studio.

The album explores themes that remain meaningful today, including the pursuit of dreams, the excitement of finding love, the pain of losing it, and the deep emotional connection people share with nature.
