BAD BUBBLE

BAD BUBBLE, “Eighty Six on Me”, is a fancy song that brings to light issues pertaining to conflicts, surviving and emotional distress. The lines in the song such as “I was in high gear…all guns were blazing…/The bullets shot right through my ears…” depict chaos and urgency. Besides, the writer’s near-death experience is contrasted with the emotional detachment of another character. This makes it seem that nobody seems to care any longer because even though you cried to death he remained emotionless.

There are two doubtful questions asked in the song: “What do you think of me now?” and “…I bet you wish I wasn’t born.” Furthermore, these thoughts reflect on a problematic relationship or past life. Conversely, there appears to be some toughness contained in some lines such as; but all are decent / The prior church was far too cold… No one was sleeping…

The chorus for BAD BUBBLE’s song reads; There’s only one way to leave this world properly… Right through the front door… Guns blazing… This clearly demonstrates courage and defiance. Similarly, figurative language continues with “You’re my tsunami… gale force winds… / To rip the roof right off my heart, yeah… / And sink right in…. Clearly indicating how much effect she had on him.

In conclusion, Eighty Six on Me is an intense and almost painfully honest track which is a great example of storytelling within music. BAD BUBBLE has done an excellent job of conveying feelings through their lyrics by writing this song.
