CAROLINE IN THE GARDEN
Caroline in the Garden Explores Emotional Depths with “Isolation Inside”
Atlanta-based Caroline in the Garden is mostly famous for her lush art-pop sound and returns on November 15, 2024, with Isolation Inside, her newest single. Combining Caroline’s turn-of-the-century piano-driven influences with the modern, electronic, and synth touches courtesy of Luke Mertz from Motion Cntrl, this track fits a richly layered song that truly resonates deeply in exploring adult relationships and their troubles.
Thematic wise, the contents “Isolation Inside” explore the emotional hurting that can come from adult responsibilities on long-term connections. Caroline brings in a mature and reflective voice rarely heard in modern music in a way that captures the feeling of loneliness that tends to creep into committed relationships. This reflective approach to songwriting puts her apart in music worlds usually dominated by the more youthful voices.
The recording process itself was quite odd as it consisted of live piano sessions combined with MIDI tracking in a way to achieve a dynamic sound multidimensional. An upcoming EP from Caroline, scheduled for release January 2025, will follow this style, and Isolation Inside is to be the penultimate single.
Fans will look forward to an EP release show in Atlanta early next year, when Caroline’s cinematic and introspective artistry will take the helm. The formerly Philly-based member of art-rock outfit Weird Hot and a practicing lawyer brings to bear a multi-faceted background that informs her music: the voice is both fresh and wise.
Stay tuned for updates from Caroline in the Garden, and don’t miss the chance to experience Isolation Inside, a poignant ode to connection and its complexities.
