BAD BUBBLE

Gus Died

BAD BUBBLE’s Gus Died expresses a poignant sequential reflection on pain, loss, and their subsequent self introspection. The lyrics highlight someone reminiscing about a past decision and the bone chilling consequences it had on their life. While exploring sorrowful themes of regret and deep self pondering, the song still manages to retain some amount of mystique which leaves it up for interpretation.

The most ambiguous component in the lyrics is a shadow that was able to talk. This suggests the possibility of the presence of a distinct personification, which is plenty capable of conversing. This brings the notion of internal dialogue about. BAD BUBBLE could be tormented by their thoughts or actions. The shadow’s grammar might also represent clarity hindsight as a sinister wake up call. “Encrypted on my clothes,” is yet another unsettling suggestion that trivial memories or guilt are forever weaved into existence. One can interpret this as a state of consciousness coated in guilt. There’s an entity that does not need to wait for the truth to reveal itself wherein one can do nothing to erase what has already been done.

Another group of people perceives Love as arrows, and this dependance is often fatal. Not only does this reinforce the given image of an arrow pointing towards someone’s heart, it also highlights the strain every person in battle has to endure behind the walls. In that context, it may show towards someone as an intention of BAD BUBBLE, which can be an attempt to reach out and perhaps hurt them emotionally, intentionally or unintentionally. The power behind the lyrics is deeply embedded in the vacillation of whether the arrow served its purpose to protect or annihilate.

The verses also focus on the concepts of detachment and fixation. BAD BUBBLE confesses to have stalked a person for years, day dreaming about them, capturing them in so many feelings. Lines about addressing walls and dozing off in bushes captures this sense of surreal loneliness that occurs when one is detached from the actual reality of what is happening around them. It feels like the person was entrapped in their own head and they were unable to connect with the person they are chasing.

Then comes the emotional turning point: the realization. It lacks structure, and it is so agitating, in the BAD BUBBLE’s chorus, one sentence haunts repetitively, “I was wrong”, which is regretful in essence. Even more, the focus on calamity is helped alongside with constantly repeating this phrase hoping it would extinguish the horror. Feeling “I just can’t afford this bill” speaks towards means of emotional or a civic debt unable to provide a solution. These lines give regret the notion that it is somehow tangible, and therefore, cannot be settled like a bill.

All in all, Gus Died remains steadily distinguishable as an exceptionally sensitive and contemplative piece. BAD BUBBLE includes poetic components that touch on feelings of regret and introspection. The song is not just a story but an experience that forces the listeners to think about how they relate to it. The mix of vivid imagination with profound honesty creates a song like no other else and brings out strong emotions in people.
