Ava Valianti Releases Poignant New Single ‘Buttercups’

In Buttercups, Long Island, N.Y.’s Ava Valianti, 15, captures the tender interplay of longing and betrayal with a voice that’s raw yet hopeful. It is scheduled for a July 11, 2025, release date, but Destruct is given a sparse, acoustic introduction – delicate piano and subdued guitar – that reveals the vulnerable core of the song. As the track builds, a storming pop-rock anthem frees up pounding backbeats and electric guitar that envelop the emotional crescendo of heartbreak and resurgence.

“Oh, isn’t that my buttercup, my buttercup baby,” Ava breathlessly searches for the naivete of something that could never be fixed, despite belief beginning to slide from her. It is this bold explicit writing and description that provide Ava a voice of her generation, not averse to charting the rough contours of youth passion and heartbreak.

“Bluttercups is a track that encompasses love, losing, but somehow figuring a way of direction,” Ava describes. “It rumates via remembrances which are hard to escape from — the cinnamon smell, croaks of doors, the buttercups — and the location which even despite life becoming a mess, these remembrances remind of why I was stressed in the first place. This is, without a doubt, one of my personal favorite tracks I’ve recorded; I genuinely just felt so happy recording the track, and I hope that resonates when you sit back to give the track a listen!”

Following from previous tracks such as Middle Ground and Laugh Track, Ava was already a hit with a widening fan base. Buttercups previewed her autumn EP – and the song is one that can’t be skipped.
