AVA VALIANTI UNVEILS NEW SINGLE “LAUGH TRACK”
Ava Valianti just released her newest single “Laugh Track” on April 4th, and it is a beautifully introspective dive into self-perception, identity, and the pressure to keep performing. Self-perception with the ongoing indie-pop vulnerability is what makes Ava stand out, and she delivers once more through the seamless blend of dark humor and emotional honesty that is intimate yet relatable.
In “Laugh Track,” Ava reflects on her life as a sitcom, and she does so with a strikingly poignant sense of validation. The song deals with the daunting struggle of dealing with the overwhelming notion of being more of a punchline than a protagonist and questioning whether the laughter that surrounds them is supportive or mocking. She vividly depicts the struggle of self-analyzing by constantly grappling with flawed characters from TV shows, longing to shed the notion of being on camera and yearning for a more authentic version of oneself with references to The Truman Show and How I Met Your Mother’s Ted Mosby.
Ava claims she wrote the song “as a way to process the feeling of always being ‘on’—like I’m performing even when no one’s watching.” This perception sets the stage for her rich songwriting style which has already earned her national radio play, two nominations for the New England Music Awards, and a runner-up finish in the International Acoustic Music Awards.
Ava already made her 2023 debut with bubble wrap and she has unique songs that set her apart in the indie scene such as Middle Ground, January, and Wishing Well that lead up to the anticipated debut EP.
Boston area fans can catch Ava live on April 5th at Charlie’s Kitchen located at Harvard Square, where she will perform Laugh track among others. With her honest perspectives and almost hypnotic energy, every new performance from her further solidifies why the music industry has their eyes on her fiercely.
