appetiteapple Reflects on Growth and Thankfulness with New Album Gratitudes
Seoul-based independent artist appetiteapple released the original album Gratitudes on August 10, 2026, presenting a deeply personal project built around thankfulness, personal growth and the ability to express feelings that once proved difficult to put into words.
Gratitudes traces its central idea back to appetiteapple’s childhood, when saying “thank you” did not always come naturally. Encouragement from a teacher to acknowledge and appreciate the people around them gradually became an important lesson, eventually finding its way into appetiteapple’s musical expression as an adult. The album looks back at that development while recognizing the people encountered throughout different stages of life.
The project also highlights appetiteapple’s fiercely independent approach to making music. Gratitudes was created entirely as a solo project, with appetiteapple taking responsibility for songwriting, arranging the material in Logic Pro, mixing, mastering and designing the album artwork. Developed from the ground up over the course of the previous year, the album represents a completely personal creative vision with appetiteapple maintaining full ownership of the work.
Musically, Gratitudes takes inspiration from the sensibilities of 90s Britpop while aiming to create vivid emotional landscapes. “Hello To Strangers” is associated with the image of standing on top of a green hill and looking toward a nearby town or village, creating a sense of anticipation, movement and unusual excitement around meeting someone new.
“Matter Of Decision,” meanwhile, explores ideas of determination, willpower and personal strength, encouraging images of someone becoming stronger through their choices and actions.
With Gratitudes, appetiteapple turns the simple act of saying thank you into the heart of a personal album about maturity, memory and self-expression, while demonstrating the creative possibilities of a completely independent approach to music.
