Andrew Moore and Hooch Reach New Heights with Sophomore Album Mountain

Andrew Moore and Hooch returned on August 14 with Mountain, an ambitious sophomore album that builds on the success of their award-winning debut while exploring new sides of their Americana sound.

Hailing from London, Kentucky, the band spent nearly two years creating Mountain. Andrew Moore wrote the lyrics and music for every track, drawing inspiration from real-life experiences and the world around him. The album was produced across five different studios by a team including Jason Groves, Justine Blazer, Nick Autry and golf legend John Daly.

One of the album’s standout moments is “Tyrant,” featuring Daly alongside Grammy-winning artist Dan Tyminski. Daly became involved after hearing Moore perform the song live and connecting personally with its message. The collaboration eventually grew into a music video starring Moore and Daly, which received coverage from TMZ and Music Crowns.

Another highlight, “Peace Love and Harmony (Live at the Record Shop),” takes a different approach. Working with Justine Blazer, Moore wanted to preserve the raw character of the song while delivering a clear message about replacing hatred with kindness and unity.

Mountain also benefits from an unusual recording process. The band recorded the album in a live format, helping capture the tight sound of their performances. Sessions took place at locations including Nashville’s Sound Stage Studios, where Moore also had the opportunity to record on Ronnie Milsap’s piano. Creativity extended to songs such as “Tasmanian Devil,” whose chorus combines vocals with percussion instruments discovered in the studio.

Since its release, Mountain has continued to build momentum for Andrew Moore and Hooch. The album has been submitted for Grammy consideration, while tracks from the project have contributed to 13 Josie Music Awards nominations this September. With performances booked through the beginning of 2027, Mountain marks another major chapter in the band’s growing journey.
