Andy Smythe Unveils Emotionally-Charged New Single “Tears Can Heal”
Andy Smythe returns with his brand-new single, “Tears Can Heal”, an emotional and powerful song that happens to be an ode to a friend who has left an indelible mark on both Smythe’s life and music. Coming after Smythe’s critically acclaimed album “Poetry in Exile”, the single maintains Smythe’s distinctive voice and songwriting molded from key influences such as Harry Nilsson and The Beatles.
“Tears Can Heal” is the story of one such friendship that deeply touched Smythe’s creative journey. This track looks back to memories of a friend who introduced him to the greats like Neil Young and Van Morrison and through whom his lyricism was also informed. His friend did not live long enough to receive the recognition he deserves, but this track will always be a beautiful tribute to their friendship.
Co-written with Chris Payne, the composer, “Tears Can Heal” is just an emotional rendering of lyric, blending into one, a ground-shaking instrumentation-one of those truly timeless pieces.
