FRANXIE Releases Intimate New Single ‘Stone’

Wollongong alt-folk artist FRANXIE has released her new single “Stone” today, September 18, an intimate piano ballad exploring anxiety, emotional weight and the difficult process of letting go.

Written nearly ten years ago, “Stone” has followed FRANXIE through live performances, voice memos and unfinished demos before finally finding its finished form. The song reflects a period when feelings of anxiety and being emotionally trapped were difficult to express, while its meaning has evolved as FRANXIE has grown alongside it.

Self-produced by FRANXIE, the recording is built around a raw live piano and vocal performance. Layered backing vocals, bass and electric guitar add depth while preserving the honesty and imperfections of the original take.

Following “Fucking Around” and “Nobody’s Home,” “Stone” continues FRANXIE’s exploration of vulnerability, healing and emotional honesty, while opening the door to more music arriving throughout 2026 and an EP currently in development.
