Q: What inspired you to make a song like “Past Life”?
A: I was inspired to write “Past Life” by my own experience with love and its complications. I wanted to delve into the concept of old connections that still affect our present relationships.
Q: Can you tell us about the creative process behind writing such raw, vulnerable lyrics as those in “Past Life?”
A: It’s really easy for me to write songs my way, baring it all. I look inside myself and explore so many emotions and situations when penning this track.
Q: What do you want your listeners to take away from “Past Life”?
A: My hope is that they can relate themselves in the song; feel at home because if people would experience heart break and joy too. In other words, accept their complex emotions and relations.
Q: This song tends to talk about past linkages in life which appear inevitable through self-drawn circles whenever one is not careful. Could you tell us why it was important for you personally?
A: That is the subject matter of many stories concerning people who lived before. For instance, we walk back down same streets although we know they aren’t good places anymore. The emphasis here is on affecting factors rather than psychological consequences.
Q: The chorus of “Past Life” repeats itself several times; what does this signify?
A: By repeating these lyrics over again during the chorus, it serves a purposeᅳreinforces a previous point about past linkages while dealing with concepts that are cyclical in nature. It’s like the lead character caught up as if entrapped in his former world without any chance to escape or move ahead.
Q: How would you describe the overall sound and mood of “Past Life”?
A: “Past life” has got an eerie sound with atmospheric production values and mesmerizing voxes. It’s kind of sad and reflective, but also beautiful and strong at the same time.
Q: What do you hope to achieve with your music, particularly with songs like “Past Life”?
A: The whole idea is that my music should help people find answers to their lives through understanding as well as catharsis. My songs are more or less like companions who help them deal with these issues which at times can be very complicated.
Q: Are there any interesting or funny stories about the recording of “Past Life” that you would like to share?
A: “Past Life” demanded a lot from me in terms of total involvement and being deep, as its making was so immersive. We were working hard on different sounds and textures for hours trying to capture the right mood for this track. This has been made possible by team work and I am proud of this song.

A: It feels like “Past Life,” is just me continuing what I have done before; being true to myself that it is. These words have been used variously before now and they all contribute to make up my entire body of work, which is varied in depth.
Q: How does it feel to see your music received so positively by audiences and critics?
A: It is an extremely humbling and fulfilling experience to receive positive feedback on “Past Life”. I am thankful for the love bestowed on me by my fans and for the platform that allows me to make music that everyone can listen to. It keeps pushing my creativity beyond limits and looking for new ways of expression.
