Connor Riesen Pushes His Creative Boundaries with “Beginnings Vol. 3”

Orlando-based producer and artist Connor Riesen is continuing his musical evolution with Beginnings Vol. 3, the third installment in his series of three-track EPs. For Riesen, this new project represents another important step forward, bringing together the different skills he has developed throughout his journey as an independent artist.

Beginnings Vol. 3 finds Riesen moving further outside his comfort zone. He provides vocals on two of the EP’s three songs, while also taking responsibility for the production and contributing to the writing. Perhaps most notably, the project encouraged him to expand his abilities as a musician by learning guitar by ear specifically for the release. Both electric and acoustic guitar feature in his work on the EP, adding another dimension to his growing creative toolkit.

This willingness to keep learning has been part of Riesen’s story from the beginning. After starting piano lessons at seven, he soon chose a more independent path, teaching himself and later developing his musical knowledge through French horn and school band. By 2019, he was writing melodies over piano chord progressions, eventually moving into digital production and releasing his debut album, In My Mind, in 2022.

Since then, Riesen has explored jazz, piano arrangements, collaborations and different approaches to composition through projects including Stories, All This Time and Sabbath in C.

With Beginnings Vol. 3, Connor Riesen continues that spirit of experimentation. It is an ambitious addition to the Beginnings series and a confident reflection of an artist who remains eager to develop, take risks and discover where his creativity can lead next.
