At just 18 years old, Tenkasi, India based singer and artist Rishi Ulaganathan brings a deeply personal story to his single “Family.” The song was created during an emotional moment in his life, on the day of his aunt’s funeral, as he thought about the 10-year-old son she left behind.

That experience also brought back memories of his mother’s miraculous survival from a brain tumour, leading Rishi to reflect on how important family becomes during life’s most difficult moments. At the heart of “Family” is a simple but powerful realization: friends may come and go, but family stays forever.

Rishi has studied Carnatic music since 2018, while developing a versatile musical identity that stretches from Tamil classical music to English melody and pop. With ambitions to build a global identity in music, “Family” introduces listeners to the sincere, personal storytelling behind his work.
