Gilgulim Channel Spiritual Purpose Into the Upcoming Release “Soulslike”

Jerusalem-based collective Gilgulim are preparing to release “Soulslike” on July 26, 2026, presenting a remix album shaped by spiritual exploration, artistic ambition, and a deep desire to preserve beauty through music.

At the heart of “Soulslike” is the result of what Gilgulim describe as a long spiritual search. The collective approaches music as something more than entertainment, seeing creativity as a way to capture moments that might otherwise disappear. Their guiding idea is to preserve something beautiful and transcendent beyond the limits of time, giving the project a strong sense of purpose.

Gilgulim describe the “necessity to improve the world” as a central influence behind their work. This philosophy gives “Soulslike” a distinctive identity, connecting artistic creation with the belief that music can become a transformative force and a meaningful declaration of presence in an ever-changing world.

The project brings together several contributors. Composer and multi-instrumentalist Eugene Kuzmin performs vocals, guitars, keyboards, drums, and bass, while Vera Agnivolok and Natalia Belenkaya contribute vocals and Alexandr Binstein performs drums. The lyrical sources are equally diverse, with contributions connected to Agnivolok, Binstein, Kuzmin, poet Alexander Blok, and the Psalms of King David.

Recorded in Jerusalem, “Soulslike” also reflects the spiritual influence that surrounds Gilgulim’s creative vision. The collective credits Apollonius of Tyana with spiritual assistance throughout their journey, an influence they consider important to the project’s development.

Rather than relying on an unusual recording process or technical gimmicks, Gilgulim place the emphasis on intention. “Soulslike” emerges from their desire to capture elusive moments of beauty and give them permanence through art.
