Reetoxa Revives a Long Hidden Gem with “Bottle”

Melbourne band Reetoxa has released its latest single, “Bottle”, bringing new life to a song that has been waiting more than thirty years for its moment. Fronted by singer-songwriter Jason McKee, the band continues to blend the raw spirit of 1990s alternative rock with a polished modern sound, creating something that feels both nostalgic and fresh.

Originally written in 1995 when McKee was just fifteen years old, “Bottle” was already seen by its creator as a special song worth saving for the future. Inspired by a real story involving teenage friendship, rebellion, and conversations around mental health, the track captures an honest moment from youth while remaining deeply relevant today.

Producer Simon Moro carefully updated the song without losing its original character, while guitarist James Ryan expanded McKee’s early ideas into a powerful and energetic arrangement. Together with Kit Riley on bass and Peter Marin on drums, the band delivers a performance that fully realizes the song’s long-awaited potential.

With “Bottle”, Reetoxa proves that great songwriting can stand the test of time, offering listeners an authentic release that bridges generations while celebrating the enduring power of honest rock music.
