Melbourne outfit REETOXA continues to build momentum with the release of “The Lisa Song”, a deeply personal single that captures the exact moment Jason McKee decided to fully commit to music after decades of songwriting. Led by McKee and produced by Simon Moro, the track stands as the emotional spark behind the band’s ambitious creative journey.

Inspired by a real encounter at a Spiderbait concert at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre, “The Lisa Song” tells the story of a chance meeting that changed everything. After being stood up on a date, Jason attended the gig alone and met a woman named Lisa, whose playful energy and curiosity about his music pushed him to finally take his songwriting seriously. Armed with nothing more than rough voice notes at the time, the experience motivated him to leave university and begin recording what would eventually become REETOXA’s debut material.

The single also connects to the larger vision behind Soliloquy, the band’s epic double album written and assembled during the Covid era. Featuring contributions from respected Australian musicians including Kit Riley, Peter Marin and James Ryan, the project reflects Jason McKee’s decades of creativity and determination.
