Radium88 release a new album entitled Beauty is Lies – a deep insight into lies of truth

The musical duo Radium88 consisting of two Nottingham-based musicians – Jema Davies and Tim Thwaites – announced Beauty is Lies their second long-play that came out earlier this month on April 4, 2026. Being already their twelfth studio album, Beauty is Lies reflects the development in Radium88’s music and features a topical issue.

Being inspired by the concept that beauty is always equivalent to truth, Radium88 created a musical project where truth is often replaced by illusion. In the modern society we are so accustomed to lies and illusions, that it seems impossible to see the whole picture any more. Thus, the idea is very complicated and needs further research.

It should be noted that Radium88’s latest musical composition sounds quite diverse and complex, combining vast soundscapes and numerous grooves inspired by different genres and musical eras. First of all, there are some traces of cinema and atmospheric music, mixed with peculiar post-punk electronica. It is not a coincidence since the style of Radium88 has been developing through years and years starting from the first albums. At the same time there are many other peculiarities of their new record like a soft sounding of a folk-style accordion or a whistle or even a neo-classical piano in some cases.

Speaking about vocal parts, it should be mentioned that they also are a great part of Beauty is Lies’ sound, combining angelic vocals and speaking tracks to create an absolutely unique atmosphere.

Thus, Radium88 consisting of the two talented musicians has been working for decades developing their sound step by step. Their new album – Beauty is Lies continues that trend.
