Q Can you share more about what inspired you to write “Poverty” and how your personal experiences shaped the lyrics?

Every song I write and record, is according to the mood, I am in. Poverty is global issue, with heavy greed, selfishness, pain and suffering. There’s 99 ways to raise financial means to meet your lifestyle and necessities. So with the ending of a harsh and rough 2025 year. It was time to release my new single poverty.

Q How did growing up in Miami influence the stories and scenes you describe in your song?
Growing up in Miami Florida played a major part of my song poverty and the majority of my creations and topics. Miami is a major metropolitan area, with a lot of culture, tropical environment with the beaches and palm trees. Numerous Ethnic backgrounds and Roots, music and foods. And everything cost money in our world 🌎. Nothing is for free. If you don’t work, you will be in poverty.

Q When you talk about financial struggles, were there specific moments that had the biggest impact on your life?
The financial struggles were from the expenses as a single parent with meeting my financial responsibilities for school clothes and school supplies for my youngens. Mortgage, Utilities, association dues, groceries, fuel, car expenses and trying to budget for studio time and purchasing instrumentals and cover art for singles, E.p.’s and albums, as well as promotion for my music. With our Creator’s blessings and proper budgeting, I was successful with meeting my financial responsibilities.

Q How did being a single parent affect the themes and emotions in your lyrics?
Being a single parent, strengthen me, and helped me take care of my priorities. My kids come first, and family structure. Once my kids finished they’re homework assignments, and ate supper and were settled down. I would squeeze in time for creating my music. My kids are Grown now, so I balance out time with running my HVAC air conditioning business, helping my Mom who is disabled, and after everything, squeeze in time to release new singles once a month or every two months. Music creation is my life, fun and therapeutic.

Q What role does spirituality play in helping you navigate the challenges you describe in “Poverty”?
Being a spiritual person, has helped me be disciplined, put forth effort to never give up, even though the obstacles are very hard to move at times. What doesn’t kill you, will only make you stronger. Being kind, humble, and a positive influence, rather than a negative influence from the negative elements around all of us. And be a generous person and build up people, rather than tearing people down.

Q The song mentions nightlife and adult entertainment—how do those experiences fit into the overall story you wanted to tell?
Growing up in the big cities, you have the Day time for work and family time. In the evening you have the night life. Festivals, club events, adult themed lifestyle clubs, after hour clubs, and 24 hour liquor shops. South Beach, downtown Miami, and all the through the inner towns and parts of the cities. Whether Broward counties, Palm Beach counties, north Miami areas, North Miami Beach, Carol City, Miami gardens, and Biscayne Blvd you will have friends and associates sharing where the house parties with DJs spinning the local artists music.

Q How do you maintain a sense of humility and integrity while living in such a challenging environment, as reflected in the song?
I maintain my humility and integrity by having a balance for everything. Family time, outdoor attractions, work, music creation, music promotion and collaborations with other artists and producers and musicians. Everything takes effort, respect, balance and constant work. You learn that quickly when you’re growing up in a metropolitan area and given responsibilities by your parents at a young age. It helps you to grow and take everything one day at a time. Tomorrow is another day.

Q The lyrics have a very vivid and detailed sense of place. Was it important for you to make listeners feel like they were living those experiences with you?
I try to share my life and make it entertaining at the same time, like your favorite actor in a movie. So I choose my words carefully, practice the lyrics and try to relay each song differently, so every song is different and Unorthodox. Especially my new single Poverty. When you create art that is original, it will catch more attention and tickle the ears of our listeners. It will stamp your name as a creator.

Q How do you see your role in helping others, as suggested by the recurring theme of “help humankind grow”?
I feel like I’m helping our audience with such a powerful chorus and hook “Help humankind grow” because music is powerful and touches the soul, your heart, your mind, and releases energy. You either want to dance, exercise, work motivation, Play your favorite songs at parties, celebrations, and happy events.

Q How does your love for music and dedication to creating it help you process or overcome the difficulties you write about?
Some people are chasing a dollar for their music, and some people really enjoy creating music and it shows over time. New material, new content, new collaborations and working with different artists and producers helps me spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically. Some people play golf, some Play tennis, rugby, bowling, hunting, arts and crafts, martial arts or horse back riding. Artists like myself and others create music, which we are passionate about. And it shows through they’re music.

Q Can you explain how your personal values influenced the message of hope and resilience in the song?
I appreciate the righteous information in the holy scriptures. Like the Golden rule ” treat people the way you would like to be treated”! Better to give than to receive. And my favorite writing’s by king solomon in the Proverbs chapter 13 verse 20 : ” the one walking with the wise, will become wise, but the one having dealings with the stupid will fair badly. These wise words have helped me positively and have helped numerous humans globally who read them, meditate on them, and put forth the effort to apply the counsel in our daily lives. As long as you try, you give our Creator something to bless, and promote positive vibes and energy. Your attitude means your altitude in this world.

Q Did writing this song help you process any of the trauma or challenges you’ve faced over the years?
Yes, writing my latest release Poverty has helped me personally with the loss of my first born son Savion, who passed away 2 years ago. He would be 26 this year and was mentioned in the beginning of the first verse, when I shared ” G III, Savion and me, Santa Clara spree, have it cold in your house, educated in A.C. (Air conditioning). I try to keep my son living through my music with good memories and it helps soothe the grieving of a parent losing their child and having to see them in a coffin. It becomes a permanent scar, and you need something therapeutic to help you endure and keep living. Creating music like Poverty has helped me to endure and strengthen others, who may seek therapy from the healing process from music.

Q How do you hope listeners will relate to or take inspiration from the story in “Poverty”?
I feel my original music creations are very therapeutic, up building, motivational, and will strengthen the community, the music industry, our neighbors, employees at work needing motivation while at work. Families, friends and neighbors who are traveling or over the road drivers traveling long distances to supply our communities with cargo, goods and products that keep our economy moving. Music lifts people up, and helps you through our daily tasks as humans. Numerous genre’s, sounds, and styles help you experience a different feel and vibe.

Q What part of the song’s lyrics do you feel most proud of, and why?
I enjoyed creating the whole song from intro, verses, chorus or Hook, ad-libs, sound engineering, production and artwork. But the chorus is very powerful, a Viking feel and melody, with Unorthodox flavor. Help humankind grow, no more poverty, is a New Anthem for everyone, every country, every neighborhood, , and everyone practicing righteousness, kindness, humbleness, mildness, and compassion for others.

Q Looking back, how do you see “Poverty” fitting into your overall journey as an artist and as a person?

The message in my songs are releasing pain, trauma, memories of our lives we are unable to repeat or change. And a happy expression of art through instruments and word poetry like Poverty. Each song I release helps me to continue to grow as an artist, with my delivery, lyrics, chorus, and production. I look for specific styles with my production and lyrics. Just like trying a different entree at a restaurant. The flavor and ingredients are very important, preparation, marinating, and whether baked, fried or sauteed. Poverty has helped me to share a different flavored dish in a Viking style theme in our ending year of 2025, but will last forever in our future, if we all are willing to help humankind grow.
