Pianist and composer Michael Goldberg has released a high-energy new version of his gothic-prog masterpiece with Dorian’s Dance (Midnight Metal Remix). The new iteration combines 19th-century classical themes with the energy and edge of contemporary metal for something both heavy and complex.

The track begins with the piano of Goldberg, its hook in Dorian mode soaked in darkness, until baritone-tuned guitars and double-kick drumming force the song into darker realms. Time signatures alternate between 4/4 and 7/8, making the energy relentless in its perpetual motion. Violinist Peter Voronov slices through the mix with sharp, expressive lines, introducing a serrated quality to the melodies.
