Echezona and JPRiZM Unveil the Video for “Rare”

Boston’s own Echezona has teamed up with producer JPRiZM to release the new video for their heartfelt single “Rare,” taken from the recently released album Ényì. The project, which dropped on April 22, 2025, is the result of years of collaboration between the Nigerian-American artist and his Boston-based musical partner.

The “Rare” video, released July 22, 2025, strips away any flashy effects in favor of honest, personal storytelling. Echezona describes it as “honest. No mask. Sharing something real,” focusing on emotional truths that connect with “big-hearted souls” everywhere. The track is a quiet but powerful reminder that while love exists, it’s rare—and if taken for granted, it might not last.

Ényì, meaning “friend” in the Igbo language of Nigeria, showcases a rich blend of afrofusion, R&B, soul, hip hop, and afrobeat. Drawing from his multicultural background—growing up in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood with Nigerian immigrant parents—Echezona embodies a seamless fusion of African and American influences.

JPRiZM explains that the album’s songs carry themes of love, community, and making a difference in each other’s lives. Several years in the making, Ényì reflects both the joys and challenges of the human experience, creating music that speaks to a wide audience.
