Zachary Mason Drops Spacey New Single ‘The Funky Martians’

Zachary Mason is back with a wildly entertaining new single, The Funky Martians, released July 25th. The track marks the second chapter of his upcoming EP 5…4…3…2…1…, which will explore the story of mankind fleeing Earth to settle on Mars. In this humorous and offbeat song, a colony ship touches down on the red planet, only to be greeted by some unfriendly Martians—until, by chance, they’re calmed with funky music.

The single blends psychedelic, space, and experimental rock, wrapped in quirky storytelling and layered special effects. Featuring groovy bass lines from John Thomasson (Little Big Town) and stellar drums from Nate Barnes (Rose Hill Drive), the sound is both unique and engaging.
