Synthonic releases their album Lampin’

Synthonic is proud to present their latest original album Lampin’, a smooth and funky album filled with laid-back vibes and artistic brilliance. Launched on May 23rd, 2025, the album is a standout in the modern-day jazz-funk genre, a tribute to the Acid Jazz sound from the 90s but with updated production styles.

Synthonic, hailing from Sidmouth, UK, contributes depth to this album through collaboration with some experienced artists, including Vasilis Xenopoulos (tenor sax), Jack Birchwood (trumpet), Valere Speranza (bass), and Jeremy Dunning (guitar). The sound is lush and textured, with performances supported by VSTs, synths, and samples. The arrangements are precisely played through for each track, supported by the artist’s sensitive ear for harmonic nuance.

Highlights include tracks like All Day, Every Day and title track Lampin’. They represent the capacity for Synthonic to craft smart music that is also accessible. They capture the essence of the album: laidback, funky, and technically sound without being intimidating.

Completed entirely in Synthonic’s home studio, some tracks took several years to write, which created a close and evolving feel for the project. Production standouts feature reversed Rhodes on The Quirk and subtle sidechain effects on El Paseo.

Since the release, Synthonic Live has played on the main stage at the Sidmouth International Jazz & Blues Festival, supporting UK soul/pop legend Gabrielle, and at the Southampton Modern Jazz Club. With Lampin’, Synthonic is leaving a lasting mark in the UK jazz world by blending the past and the future into something brand new.
