Echezona Releases “Ényì” – An Album of Love, Self-Discovery, and Unification

Boston born Echezona released his long-hyped debut album Ényì on April 22, 2025, a literate blend of storytelling and sonic exploration. Working with producer JPRiZM, the musicians deliver a strongly personal and culture-dense work exploring self-discovery, society, and actualization concepts.

Set in JPRiZM’s Boston studio, Ényì (the album itself means “friend,” “friendship”) is every bit a conversation amongst like-minded peers as it is an album. Each track on it is having a friend sitting beside you with stories of openness, of happiness, and of self-discovery. Whether it is the infectious energy of “Amazing” and “Stick Around,” or the unflinching honesty of “Flaws” and “Truthfully,” each track contributes a new shade to the album’s emotional spectrum.

The listener is transported through a sonic odyssey with moments of deeply introspective words on tracks like “Rare” and “High Time” and surprise hip hop beats on “Locked In.” The story culminates on a cinematic note on “Evolve,” showcasing Echezona’s ability to blend sophisticated words with a compelling story structure.

Years-long in the making, Ényì is a culmination of Echezona and JPRiZM’s own development. The duo has gone to great lengths to produce music which transcends globally but is also authentic to their roots as they first came into the scene with their “Galileo” single back in 2020. The album is a celebration of everyday humanity with African cultural richness and shrouded in universalism which makes it both intimate and expansive.
