Fabio Cicala Unveils “The Words I Didn’t Say” – A Melodic and Emotional Ride
London musician Fabio Cicala releases his new single, “The Words I Didn’t Say,” today, February 14, 2025. The self-composed and performed track is a deeply personal exploration of his musical and spiritual development. Blending baroque and neoclassical with 1970s progressive rock psychedelic elements, the track is a ride into the self.
Recorded at legendary Abbey Road Studios and Soho Sonic Studios, the single is part of ambitious project that comprises nine tracks of music, each painting a picture of Cicala’s personal transformation since his move from Italy to the UK in 2014. Inspiration for the track caught Cicala off guard—while rehearsing George Michael’s Careless Whisper, Cicala’s hands involuntarily wrote out a baroque-sounding solo that then developed into a soulful, emotive melody.
In its purest form, “The Words I Didn’t Say” is a story about self-restraint and control. Ignited by a fleeting yet fiery encounter with an individual he encountered on the set of a film, Cicala translates unsaid sentiments into music. His classical guitar work on a Cordoba F7 Paco lends a airy yet fierce dynamism, clipped to precision in order to encompass even the finest subtleties, even his own breathing.
With this song, Cicala invites one to pause and find one’s own interpretation within the melodies. “The Words I Didn’t Say” is now streaming, another achievement on his part.
