Owen Young Drops “Three”: The Most Powerful Third Chapter of “Muddy River”

Owen Young’s new EP, Three, which was released on December 6, 2024, is an enthralling extension of his four-part album Muddy River. This third chapter is a bit different from what Parts One (“On A Day Like That”) and Two (“Town Line”) have expressed as three deeply introspective tracks.

Every track on Three tells a different story: a love letter to an old friend, a lament from a child of the Sixties-an impassioned rant. The songs were written during the pandemic and its fallouts and speak of love, frustration, and societal struggles, including lack of empathy during distressing times.

A resident of Haldimand County on the Grand River, Owen Young brings a fine arts and law background into a deeply resonating sound. On Three, he opens the door to a reflective and connecting space while proving his capacity to take personal experiences and convert them into a universal tale.
