5 Hills Out Release Debut Album “Dystopia Bazaar”

The Derbyshire based folk punk outfit 5 Hills Out have released their highly anticipated first full album entitled “Dystopia Bazaar” on Saturday, August 24th, 2024. The quintet finally releases a full-length through the label Culvert Collective Recordings.

Notwithstanding the raft of challenges faced by the band, which included saxophonist Alex’s fight with cancer and drummer Chris’s recovery from a severe cycling accident, the band battled on to complete the album. Their resiliency is reflected in the music as it fuses themes of hope, pain, and rebellion against personal struggle and greater social unrest.

With its roots firmly set in folk punk, the “Dystopia Bazaar” album brings 10 tracks that balance raw energy with poignant storytelling. It is actually a follow-up to their earlier EPs “No Way In” and “Still Outside,” not to mention a double single: “Snug Sessions” and “Snowfall.” This was recorded at Dubrek Studios in Derby earlier this year.

This was celebrated with a live album launch by the band at Dubrek Studios, followed by a show with Mad Dog Mcrea at The Rescue Rooms. The band’s followers are absolutely delighted.
